Chinese President Xi Jinping has planted trees with other Asia-Pacific leaders to mark the friendship in the APEC family. The event showed that member economies pay high attention to environmental conservation and green development, hoping cooperation among APEC members can grow and prosper together with the trees.
Meanwhile during a sideline meeting with his Philippine counterpart Benigno Aquino III, President Xi said China expects the Philippines to return to the previous bilateral consensus and handle relevant disputes in a constructive way. President Xi said China and the Philippines have maintained a good relationship, but severe difficulties have emerged in recent years because of disputes in the South China Sea. He said China hopes the Philippines can meet China halfway and pave the way for healthy relations.
